Fred Kevetter, 81, of Whitney passed away at his home October 12, 2005. Frederick Joseph Kevetter was born August 7, 1924 in Kansas City, Missouri to Fred and Golda Kevetter. He married Nancy Woodfin on May 5, 1950 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The two have seven children, seventeen grandchildren and one great grandchild. He joined the Navy when he was 15 and later served in the Air Force for 28 years, retiring as a senior chaplain, lieutenant colonel. Fred received a Bachelor of Arts from William Jewel College in Independence, Missouri, a Masters of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisiana, a Masters in Theology in Counseling from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from William Carter College in Goldsboro, North Carolina and a Juris Doctorate from Texas Southern Law School in Houston. He was a director of the Hill County Appraisal District; served on the Hill County Farm Bureau, a Mason and active in the VFW organization. He is dearly loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Whitney; children, Golda Leonard and husband, Robert of Galveston, Nancy Bukovich and husband, Peter of Sunnyvale, Mary Kevetter of Clemmons, North Carolina, Frances Kevetter and husband, Frank De Marco of Brier, Washington, Robert Kevetter of Decatur, Grace Hennig and husband, John of Whitney, Caroline Prater of Fort Worth; seventeen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
