Fred Stevens, 67, of Whitney passed away on July 1, 2008 at home with his family. Fred was born on April 28, 1941 in Lima, OH to James Ellsworth and Vera Erma Predmore Stevens. He grew up in Ohio and moved to Texas as a young man. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was a devoted husband to Suella Stevens since their marriage on May 11, 1968. He was formerly employed at Lockheed Martin and a professional truck driver for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and most of all spending time with his family. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, James Stevens, son, Freddie Allen Stevens, Jr. and mother-in-law, Darlene Howell. Fred was a loving husband and father to wife, Suella; children, Gregory Stevens of Richmond, Jeff Stevens and wife, Natalie, Misty Gregg and husband, Jesse, Melanie Stevens and Chris McBrayer. He was also a beloved grandfather of six grandchildren, Mark, Kaytlyn, Kally, Michael, Brayden and Macy. Other survivors include his brother, David Stevens and wife, Barbara all of Whitney; sisters, Irma Sterling of Akron, OH, Betty Stevens of Houston; sister-in-law, Somjai Stevens Ball of Whitney, several nieces and nephews.
