Freda Ylelene Freels

Freda Ylelene Freels, 88, of Hillsboro, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Town Hall Estates in Hillsboro. Graveside service will take place at 10:00 am, Friday, July 15, 2022, at Ridge Park Cemetery, Hillsboro, Texas. Ms. Freels will lie in state from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors, Hillsboro, Texas.

Freda was born September 1, 1933, in Malone, Texas to Gerhart and Freda Kathleen Sophie (Hugo) Freels. She grew up in Hill County, attending Salem Lutheran School and Malone School. Freda moved to Hillsboro with her mom and grandparents at an early age. She helped her mom and continued into adulthood caring for the elderly. Freda developed a lifelong relationship with Eddie and Leta Bird and from this friendship developed her own home-based ironing service. A lover of all cats, she enjoyed feeding the neighborhood cats, and loved tending to her beloved red roses.

Preceded in death by her parents, Freda is survived by several cousins and a host of friends.
