Freddie Joe Leal

Freddie Joe Leal, age 56, passed away on December 17, 2024 at his home in West, Texas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 20, 2024 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors chapel in Whitney, Texas. Burial will follow at Prairie Valley in Whitney, Texas.

Freddie Joe Leal was born on December 9, 1968 to his parents, Benancio and Patsy Leal. His family lived with Swinscoes Youth Home. Freddie hauled hay as well as broke horses for Ranch Life. He graduated from Faith Academy and then went to Hill College for a year and a half. Freddie married the love of his life, Stacie, on April 22, 1989. They moved to Indiana for 3 years to be closer to his father, Ben Leal, then moved back to Texas after the passing of his brother-in-law, Tracy Swinscoe. He worked for Flower Construction for about 9 years, Hill County Jail as a jailer for 12 years, then Immigration for 2 years. Freddie had been a rancher his entire life and loved working in the rodeos during the weekend. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Benancio and Emma Leal, Nell Ramirez and Harry Brewer; mother, Patsy Thomas and husband Prather; father, Benancio Leal Jr.; sister, Amanda Leal; Grady Swinscoe; Tracy Swinscoe; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Freddie is survived by the love of his life, Stacie Leal; children, Cody Leal and Kristina Leal; siblings, Brenda Conaway and husband Dale, JB Leal and wife Prov, and Samantha Leal; mother in-law, Marie Swinscoe; and step-mother, Sheila Leal; nieces, Jessica Johnston and husband James, and Tristan Harding; nephew, Greg Swinscoe and wife Tara; and many close nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
