Frieda Degner Neumann, 97, of Malone passed away Monday, January 21, 2013, at Crestview Nursing Home in Waco. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 23, at Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Malone with Rev. Michael Nemec officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 22, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Frieda was born June 24, 1915 in Malone, where she lived all of her life, to Fritz and Louise (Kaddatz) Degner. On November 28, 1935 she married Robert E. Neumann in Malone and he preceded her in death on January 21, 1988.
Over the years, she worked for many sewing factories in Hill County including Creditor in Hubbard and Malouf and Rose Manufacturing in Hillsboro. Frieda loved to sew, quilt, and make cookies for her family and friends. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Malone and the Lutheran Women’s League.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; son, Bobby Neumann; two brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Rob Riddle.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Neumann Riddle and husband, Scott, of Hubbard; brother, Dean Degner and wife, Rita, of Dawson; two sisters, Emma Piel of Malone and Ruth Stelck of DeSoto; four grandchildren, Pam Riddle Cooper, Donna Riddle, Colby Neumann, and Dallas Medlin and husband, Telly; two great-grandchildren, Jennifer Cooper Cheak and husband, Stephen, and Kathryn Cooper and fiancé, Ryan Bathish; two great-great grandsons, Cooper Scott Cheak and Cavan Gray Cheak; and a number of nieces and nephews.
