Gabriel Aleman, 81, of Hillsboro died Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth. Gabriel was born March 18, 1928 in Corpus Christi, Texas the son of Domingo and Guadalupe Gonzalez Aleman. During WWII, he served his country in the U. S. Army. On August 31, 1949 he married Consuelo Cortinas in Robstown and she preceded him in death on January 19, 2009. For 35 years they lived in Austin until moving to Hillsboro in 1996. He owned and operated service stations in the Austin area for a number of years. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was of the Catholic faith and a lifetime member of VFW Post #8787 in Austin. Also preceding him in death were his parents; son, Gabriel Aleman, Jr.; granddaughter, Dawn Marie Corvelle; and two brothers. Survivors include three children, Hilda Weise and husband, John, of Hillsboro, Mary Keene and husband, Walter, of Baytown, and Armando Aleman of Georgetown; four brothers, Rudy Aleman and wife, Virginia, of Corpus Christi, Roel Aleman and wife, Nancy, of Round Rock, Evaristo Aleman of Clarkwood and Juan Arriaga of Alice; three sisters, Linda Schiller of New Jersey, Aurora Quiroz and husband, Robert, of Clarkwood, and Janie Aleman of Corpus Christi; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
