Garland Cook

Garland St. Clair "Doby" Cook passed away peacefully on August 26, 2005 in Chandler, AZ. He was the 9th child out of 10 children born to Thomas and Mattie Cook. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Frances Lynn Cook in 1995. They had lived in Whitney for 26 years. He worked many years as an insurance salesman serving the primarily rural central Texas area. Doby was also a successful enterpreneaur and was known locally as a unique, independent, and fun-loving man. His passions were his wife, Frances, his family and grandchildren, his terriers, and helping honest and hard working people. Survivors include his sons, Phil DeMasco and wife, Lynda of San Antonio, TX; Chris Cook and wife, Jo of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren, Allyson Zipp and husband, Tim of New Braunfels, Ashley DeMasco of San Antonio, Tate DeMasco and wife, Melissa of San Antonio, Eric Cox of Montgomery, Michael Cook of Tuscon, AZ, and Leah Cook of Chandler, AZ.
