Garry Barnes

Garry Lynn Barnes, 64, of Whitney, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Marshall and Marshall Chapel in Whitney. Visitation will be from 7 - 9 PM, Wednesday, December 12 at the funeral home.

Garry was born on May 13, 1948, in Rockwood, Tennessee, to Herman and Verta Mae (Buckner) Barnes. He married Cathy Lynn Brown on June, 16, 1990 in Whitney. He lived in Grand Prairie before moving to Whitney in 1990. An avid hunter and fisherman, Garry loved nature and being outdoors as well as collecting and repairing guns. He also enjoyed the ocean and deep sea fishing. Garry worked as a fabricator for 36 years for LTV in Grand Prairie before retiring in 2003. He was a member of Local 848 United Aerospace Workers, the National Rifle Association and the American Legion Post #522 in Whitney.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Donald Barnes.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy L. Barnes; children, Casey Barnes of Midlothian, Krystal L. Goff and husband, Christopher of Whitney, Terry Barnes and wife, Tara, of Grand Prairie, Kristopher Brown and wife, Laci, of Terrell, and Aaron Brown of Whitney; six grandchildren, Bryanne Barnes, Brendon Barnes of Midlothian, Gabriel Goff of Whitney, Terry Barnes, Jr. of Grand Prairie, and Ethan Brown and Peyton Brown of Terrell; one niece, Cristy Crookes of Austin.
