Gary Boshears, 53 of Fort Worth, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 in a Fort Worth hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 9 at the First Baptist Church in Mertens with Rev. Koby Strawser officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Gary was born on October 10, 1959 in Fort Worth to James Willard and Jimmie Lou (Shiflet) Boshears, who preceded him in death. He grew up in Fort Worth and was a graduate of Castleberry High School. Not long after high school, he enlisted in the US Army where he served for four years including a tour of duty in Germany.
After his military service, he earned an associates degree at Hill College in Cleburne. On May 18, 1985, he and Kathy Sue Omberg were married in Godley. He had been an associate with the Lake Worth Wal-Mart since 2004 where he was a cashier. Gary and Kathy enjoyed the outdoors together, especially their fishing trips. He also was a talented cook and especially enjoyed making fudge.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Boshears of Fort Worth; two brothers, Ronnie Lee and Roger Dale Boshears, both of Sansom Park; and one sister, Shirley Lynn Jackson and her husband, Jimmy of Bridgeport.
