Gary Allen Hammond age 60, of Cleburne passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024. A funeral Service will be held at Noon Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Ft. Graham Baptist Church in Whitney with Dr. Allan Lane and Rev. Bryan Acton officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday, June 3, 2024, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney.

Gary Hammond was born on September 17, 1963, in Tomball, Texas to James Dewey and Edna Earl (Graham) Hammond. Gary loved Jesus and he loved life. There wasn't anything that had life that he didn't love from people, dogs, cats, horses, etc... He loved the outdoors and anything to do with celebrating family and friends. Gary even celebrated life after death by being an organ donor so that someone else might be able to live with what he was left of, his gifts that God blessed him with.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Dewey and Edna Earl Hammond; brothers, Curtis Linn Hammond and Steven Gerald Hammond; sister, Brenda Gail Boehl; And son, Justin Allen Hammond; and nephew, Christopher Hammond.

Gary is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Hammond of Cleburne, Texas; their children sons, Jesse Hammond of Cleburne, Texas and Jacob Hammond of Ennis, Texas; daughters, Makayla Hammond and Breann Hammond both of Cleburne, Texas; children from previous marriage daughters, Kayla O'Neal of Ball, Louisiana; sons, Gary Hammond – Greer- and Randy Hammond both from Dry Prong, Louisiana; brother, Billy Wayne Hammond of Madisonville, Texas; sister, Kathy Ann Burgess of Blackshear, Georgia; multiple nieces and nephews that he counted as his children; and he also had many bonus children.

Gary never met a stranger he was everyone's “Best Friend”. He was a mentor, protector, and a hero to many and a life coach to all.
