Gary Keith Tapp, 73, of Itasca, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022, at his home.  Graveside services will take place at 10:00 am, Friday, March 11, 2022, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Cleburne, Texas, with Pastor Jerrett Downs officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro, Texas.

Gary was born April 9, 1948, in Lufkin, Texas, to Vernon Harper and Frances Janet (Combest) Tapp.  He attended schools in Port Arthur, Texas, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1966.  Upon graduation, Gary joined the United States Air Force, where he served his country until his honorable discharge on November 21, 1980.  He was united in marriage to Sue Ellen Fregia on May 26, 1990, in Nederland, Texas.  After leaving the Air Force, he went into tele communications, where he worked as a field engineer until retiring in 2008. Gary enjoyed building and flying radio-controlled airplanes, rebuilding computers, and he could fix anything.  He was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Mansfield, Texas.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill Tapp.  He is survived by his wife, Sue Tapp; his children, Brian Keith Tapp and his wife, Macye, Clayton Harper Tapp and his wife, Katherine, Amy Michelle Haselden and her husband, Michael, and Paulene Sue Brown; his sister-in-law, Betty Fillis and her husband, Billy; seventeen grandchildren, Macy, Devon, Bailey, Isabella, Joyce, John, Edward, Cassandra, Sarah, Michael, Ayden, Nathan, Addyson, Matthew, Timothy, Luke, and Levi; and his niece, Christina Tapp.
