Gary Don Wallace, 70, passed away on October 7, 2016, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, October 10, 2016 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. Burial will follow in Whitney Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at the funeral home.

Gary was born on August 11, 1946, in Hillsboro, to Odel and LaVerne (Williams) Wallace. He grew up in Whitney and graduated from Whitney High School and lived most of his life there.

On December 4, 1969, he married the love of his life, Katherine Wallace and they were married 37 years before she preceded him in death on February 13, 2006.

He was an avid fisherman and loved NASCAR and drag racing with his son and their Mustang. In fact, he loved doing anything outdoors as well as playing dominoes and shuffleboard with his friends. He loved his Texas Rangers.

For over 35 years, Gary was a color timer film technician in the motion picture industry and he retired from Allied WBS. He attended Open Range Cowboy Church of Whitney.

Also preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his son, Keven Kyser and wife, Michele of Hudson Oaks and granddaughter, Ally Kyser of Hudson Oaks; brothers, Kenneth Wallace and wife, Linda of Mertens and Rick Wallace and wife, Janet of Whitney; and long time canine companion, Wrigley.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Providence Hospice and Waco surgeon, Dr. John Bawdiniak, all the staff at Texas Oncology in Waco and Dr. Karl Chakmakjian.
