Gene Pollan,72, of Whitney, passed away on October 2, 2012. Graveside services will be at Noon Thursday,October 4,2012 at Vaughan Cemetery near Vaughan, Texas. Visitation will be from 9- 11 AM Thursday prior to the service at Marshall & Marshall in Whitney,Texas.

Gene was born on September 11, 1940 in Luling, Texas, to the late Virgil and Miranda(Lindblad) Pollan. He grew up around Agua Dulce, Texas. During his earlier years, he served his country in the U.S. Army and worked in the oil fields with his Dad. After moving to Central Texas ,his occupation was a pipe-fitter for Brown and Root for fifteen years. Woodworking was his favorite hobby. Preceding him in death were 5 sisters.

He is survived by his son, Scott Pollan of Peoria; Scott’s mother, Jo Burton of Levelland; step-son, Carlton Ward of Beaverton,Or.and step-daughter, Kelly Caffrey of Mt. Juliet,Tn.; two sisters, Debbie Brock of Corpus Christi and Bonnie Crist of Alice and numerous nieces and nephews.
