Geneva Goates

Alpha Geneva Goates, 82, of Hillsboro passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Lake Whitney Medical Center in Whitney. Graveside services will be held at Noon on Wednesday, December 26, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Geneva was born in May 9, 1930 in Waxahachie to the late Jim and Emma (Day) Sapp. In 1931, she and her family moved to Hillsboro where she lived the remainder of her life. For 23 years, she worked for Fleetwood/Broadmore, retiring in 1990. Geneva enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with her family.

Also preceding her in death was her husband, Aurthur Noel Goates; two brothers, Aurbry and Olan Sapp; and sister, Jessie May Owens.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Webster-Kelm of Hillsboro; three grandsons, Michael Kelm of Hillsboro, Christopher Kelm and wife, April, of Terrell, and David Kelm and wife, Amanda, of Whitney; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
