Geneva Lake, 98, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday morning, September 19, 2015, at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Hillsboro. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Geneva was born September 1, 1917, in Penelope to Ira Cacy and Willie (Puckett) Worsham. She grew up in Bynum, Texas where she graduated from Bynum High School in 1935. In 1942, she was united in marriage to Henry Martin Lake, Sr., in Hillsboro. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2010.
Her working life included being a farmer’s wife, switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone, and owner of small café in Hillsboro. She was a member of West Side Church of Christ in Hillsboro.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Henry Worsham and sister, Violet Isbell.
Survivors include her son, Martin Lake and wife, Sylvia, of Hillsboro; two granddaughters, Allison Patton and husband, James, of Hillsboro and Amanda Brown of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Ethan Patton, Violet Patton, Aidan Brown, Samuel Patton, Noah Patton, Gideon Patton, Daniel Brown, Fiona Patton, and Elliott Patton.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. James Earhart and Town Hall for their loving care.
