Genevieve Krueger

Genevieve Prnka Krueger, 91, of Malone passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Nativity of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope with Father Ouseph Thekkumthala as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery near Penelope. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Genevieve was born January 3, 1922 in West to Frank and Marie (Mensik) Prnka, Sr. On February 16, 1952, she married Henry Krueger in West. For many years, Genevieve worked in sewing factories as a seamstress in both West and Waco. She also did a lot of sewing for the public, making many types of clothing including wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses.

An avid domino player, Genevieve’s family and friends had a very hard time trying to beat her at dominos. She was a very good cook and enjoyed baking and cooking. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, listening to polka music, and taking care of children. Genevieve always had a smile and was very happy. She was a member of the Nativity of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Penelope.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband on June 14, 2002; infant daughter; four brothers, Joe, Frank, George, and Charlie Prnka; and three sisters, Vickie Holecek, Christine Bradley, and Angeline Birkes.

Survivors include six children, Janet Krueger of Waco, Beverly Krueger of Dallas, Phyllis Hartnett and spouse, Richard of Osceola, Henry Krueger, Jr. of Malone, David Krueger and wife, Eva, of Harrison, Arkansas, and Annette Jarvis of Penelope; nine grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
