George Ranald Clark 85, of Whitney passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019 in Whitney. Graveside services under the direction of Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at Hillcrest Garden of Memory with full military honors provided by Dyess Air Force Base Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday February 19, 2019 at the funeral home in Whitney.
George was born on May 23, 1933 in Fort Worth , Texas to George W. and Mary Pinson
(McDonald)Clark. He grew up in Covington and graduated from Covington High School in 1952. On September 15, 1956 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Ann Tarkington in Aledo, Texas. After high school he began his military service with the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean Conflict and in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged on March 31, 1973. After his military service he went to work for Aviall an aircraft support company for 25 years retiring in 1999. After retirement he started R’Ving traveling across the United States and has lived in Whitney for the past 20, years. His hobbies include being a private pilot, he enjoyed flying and flew with the Confederate Air Force performing in air shows. He was a Ham radio operator and enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes. George also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and taking them camping. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Whitney.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a son Ranald E. Clark and sister Nancy Jean.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Ann Clark of Whitney; daughter, Tammy Coppedge and husband, Bill of Coppell; grandchildren, Zachary Tores of Dallas, Benjamin Clark and wife, Jenn of Greenville, Rosemary Trojacek and husband, Kaleb of Ennis, Andrea Clark of Waxahachie, Kevin George Clark and significant other Tasha of Waxahachie and Emma Coppedge of Coppell; great-grandson, Mason Clark of Greenville; sister Priscilla Hunt of Rowlett, 3, neices and 1, nephew and pet companion Charlie.
