George (Buster) Lindberg of Whitney, passed away on October 20, 2018. The family will hold a memorial service at the Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney at 11:00 Friday, October 26, 2018.
George was born on November 24, 1951, in Fort Benning, Georgia to George and Peggy Lindberg and spent his youth in Fayettville, TN where his grandparents gave him the nickname “Buster.” He then moved to Montclair, California where he graduated from high school and joined the Navy. After a three year stint, and additional traveling, he moved to Lewisville where he raised four wonderful children, Kristian, Felicia, Kimberly and Forrest.
During his 37 years with GEC, he traveled the world extensively. In 2005, he met and married what would turn out to be the love of his life, Brenda Lindberg, on December 31, 2005. They spent their time traveling, sailing, boating spending time with family and friends and enjoying their 11 grandchildren. George was an active member of Open Range Cowboy Church and was proud of and humbled by his lay pastor position.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, John Lindberg; a son, Forrest Lindberg; and a grandson, Gage Bankston.
Survivors include in wife, Brenda Lindberg of Whitney; sisters, Alyson Lindberg and Terri Lindberg Story and husband, Randy; children, Kristian Lindberg and wife, Krysta, Felicia King and husband, Chris, Kimberly Lindberg; Ray Byrd and wife, Lindsay, Kristopher Pickering and wife, Samantha; 11 grandchildren, Lizzie, Forrest, Kirsten, Madison, Kennedy, Jordan, Alyssa, Cierra, Alicia, Adeline, and Aubrey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George’s memory to the Donate Life Texas, Attn: Finance Department, 2510 Westridge St., Houston, TX 77054.
