Gerald Thomas

Gerald Jay Thomas passed aways Tuesday, December 14, 2004, at his residence, following a brief illness. Gerald was born October 11, 1938 in Hillsboro the son of Mary Bell Aldridge Thomas and Jay H. Thomas, Jr. Being of the Baptist faith, as a young man he was baptized in the First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and North Texas State University, where he earned a BBA degree in management. In 1962, he was employed by K-M Certain-Teed Products in Hillsboro and thereafter at Lone Star Gas Company in Iowa Park, Texas, where he was a Branch Manager and Ensearch Corporation where he traveled as an Auditor. After his retirement, Gerald utilized his extensive knowledge of Texas and Southwestern literature in a part-time job at the Book Warehouse at the outlet mall in Hillsboro where he enjoyed meeting and assisting literature buffs from all over Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was an excellent conversationalist and will be missed by all those who knew him. Survivors include numerous cousins and a host of many friends.
