Geraldine was born July 6, 1923 in Hillsboro and moved to O'Fallon, Illinois in 1961 in support of her husband's career. She was a member of the World Organization of China Painters and Carbondale Porcelain Art Guild of Carbondale, Illinois and a nationally certified china-painting instructor. She had attended O'Fallon First United Methodist Church. She was a beautiful, kind and gentle woman who was very generous and loving to her friends and family. Preceding her in death were her parents, Burton Sanders and Nettie May Cad Sweeney Phillips of Hillsboro. Survivors include: her beloved husband of 59 years, Joseph T. Bobbitt of O'Fallon, Illinois; one daughter, Pamela Jo Bobbitt-Pierson and husband, John, of Indianapolis, Indiana; one granddaughter, Hannah Pierson and fiance, Aaron Heller, of Indianapolis, Indiana; one grandson, Joseph Pierson of Indianapolis, Indiana; very special friend, Karen Kreiman and husband, Richard, of Bethalto, Illinois; dear friends, Al and Joel Craddock; many, many loving cousins in Hillsboro, including Bobbitt McGregor, Aaron McGregor and Martha McGregor; and a special friend, Doris Dutton. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society in her honor and in memory of her dear friend, Nell Craddock.
