She was born July 23, 1922, on the Hilton Farm in Hill County, to William Oscar and Bertha (White) Dumas. She attended school in Lovelace, Arnot, and Hillsboro. In 1940, Geraldine married Orville B Ramsey. In 1941, a daughter, Judy, was born and in 1943 a son, David, was born. Orville was drafted into the U. S. army in 1943 and served in the European Theater. As a result of his absence, Geraldine assumed full responsibility for raising the family. After the war, Orville worked for a pipeline company. His job required the family to relocate numerous times. This allowed the family to experience life in the towns of Hillsboro, Coolidge, Mexia, Ranger, and Graford.
In 1957, Geraldine and Orville divorced after seventeen years of marriage.
Geraldine worked as a waitress for several years and in 1963 she married Joe Morris. They shared their lives for 35 years until Joe passed away on Christmas Eve in 1998. In 2001, Geraldine proudly purchased a new home in Saginaw where she spent many hours playing 42 with her family. Geraldine lived a long life on her own terms and was able to live independently in her home until she was 88 years old.
Geraldine was preceded in death by five brothers Curtis, Olin, Wesley, Vernon, and an infant brother; one sister Mozelle Dumas and a son-in-law Frank Doggett.
Survivors include a sister, Kathleen Osteen and her husband Buford; daughter, Judy Doggett; son, David Ramsey and wife, Cookie; grandchildren, Debbie Garrison, Michael Ramsey, Darla Ramsey, Misty Ramsey, and step-grandson Michael Doggett; great-grandchildren, Kristen Newkom, Kiersti Ramsey, Colin Ramsey, Chase Ramsey; step-great-grandchildren, June Davis, Mark Doggett and Michael Robert Doggett; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
