Geraldine Wilbourn

Geraldine Wilbourn, 98, of Hillsboro passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2012, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro with Rev. Michael Nemec officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Geraldine was born November 21, 1913 in the Bethlehem Community to Presley Miller and Ina May (Coleman) Mock. For most of her life, Hillsboro had been her home. On April 17, 1949 she married Alton D. Wilbourn and he preceded her in death on November 12, 1996.

For 13 years, Geraldine worked for Dr. Richard Beskow before going to work at the Hillsboro Clinic. She worked there from the time it opened until it closed. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.

Also preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Dr. P. J. Mock and Jeff Coleman Mock.

Survivors include her nephews and nieces, Dr. Presley Jo Mock, Jr. and wife, Patricia, of La Porte, Sue Gale Mock Kooken of Hillsboro, Nancy Heard of Dallas, Holly Heard Morgan of Canyon Lake, John Heard of Dallas, and Floyd Heard of Boerne; great-nephews and great-niece, Dr. Presley Martin Mock and wife, Lynn, of Dallas, Joe David Mock and wife, Lisa, of Greer, SC, and Jennifer M. Mock-Schaeffer and husband, Michael, of Alexandria, VA; great-great nephews and great-great nieces, Cory, Christopher, Kendell, Colton, Jillian and Abigail Mock, and Cora and Natalie Schaeffer; brother-in-law, Floyd Heard of Midland; and local cousins, Louise Dobbs and J. J. Dobbs and wife, Lodon.
