Gertrude Hyles

Gertrude Hyles, 89, of Hillsboro died Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Gertrude was born April 25, 1919 in Peoria, Texas the daughter of Sam and Eula Lee Tisdale Young. On April 27, 1942 she married Otis Hyles in Seattle, Washington and they were married for 67 years. In 1956 they moved to Hillsboro. She graduated from Grant Buie Nursing School in 1967. She was honored as nurse of the year at Grant Buie Hospital where she was a LVN. For 43 years she was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Preceding her in death were her parents, six sisters, five brothers, and one grandchild. Survivors include her husband, Otis Hyles of Hillsboro; daughters, Marilyn Conger of Burleson and Patricia Hartis and husband, Jacky, of Burelson; three grandchildren, Scott Hartis, Kirk Conger and wife, Shari, and Christy Adkins; and four great-grandchildren: Courtney, Ryan, and Jarrett Adkins and Katey Conger.
