Gilberto Gonzales, Sr

Gilberto Gonzales, Sr. passed away on March 25, 2005 at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. He was the son of Bruno and Presiliana Villanueva Gonzales. On September 8, 1943 he married Rosa Vasquez and she preceded him in death on September 27, 2003. During World War II he served his country in the United States Army. He had lived in Hillsboro the past 40 years and had worked for Hillsboro Cotton Mill and Hillcrest Carpets. Gilberto enjoyed gardening and taking care of his yard and loved being a grandfather. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothes, Julio Gonzales, Fermin Gonzales, Visente Gonzales; 3 sisters, Regina Virgina Mendez, Lorenza Mendez and Paulina Zoinz. Survivors include his six children, Mary Salinas and husband, Richard of Waco, Clara Salinas and husband, Viyer ?Bill? of Lewisville, Gilbert Gonzales, Jr. and wife, Judy of Dallas, Rosita Balderas of Bynum, Bruno Gonzales and wife, Sheri of Hillsboro, Ricardo ?Ricky? Gonzales and wife, Debbie of Hillsboro; sister, Maria Lerma of Hillsboro; 17 grandchildren, Ricky Salinas, Robert Salinas, Juan Balderas, Carlos Salinas, Buddy Gonzales, Angel Balderas, Casey Gonzales, Michael Garza, Manuel Hernandez, Jo Ann Garza, Lisa Salinas, Helen Hernandez, Maria Salinas, Vanessa Salinas, Sarah Gonzales, Barbarella Salinas, Jennifer Salinas; 9 great grandchildren, Destinee Salinas, Gabriella Herrea, Maribella Salinas, Miquel Salinas, Ariana Salinas, Isabella Salinas, Tavion Salinas, Adam Salinas, Cierra Walker, and a 10th on the way; numerous nephews and nieces.
