Gladine Watson Simon 85, of Denton and formerly of Whitney passed away on Oct. 14, 2008 in Denton. Gladine was born on Sept. 3, 1923 in New Baden, Texas to John Thomas and Floy Williams Watson. She married Thomas Travis Simon on April 26, 1954 in Durant, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2002. She owned and operated Little Folks Day Care in Whitney for 20 years. She was an avid painter and enjoyed entering her paintings in the Bond's Alley Arts Festival where she won several awards. She was a dedicated and faithful member of First Baptist Church. She was also a very devoted wife and mother. Also preceding her in death were her parents and son, James Haining. Survivors include her children, Dennis Simon and wife, Sharon of Denton, Gary Simon and wife, Marilyn, daughter in law, Michalea Moore all of Austin; brothers, Alfred Watson of Louisiana, Leonard Watson of College Station; sisters, Lucille Treadaway of Red Oak, Earlene Davis of Rowlette; 11 grandchildren, Tanner, Tyler, Travis, Morgan, Emma, John, Rachel, Angela, Heather, Sabrina, Troy and 1 great grandchild, Keagen.
