Glendaryl Rajon Montgomery, 21, passed away Tuesday morning, August 22, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Burial with “Military Honors” will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 29, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.
Glendaryl, affectionately known as “Glen”, was born September 6, 1995 to Kimberly L. Montgomery Moon and Delvin J. Johnson. He was a native of Hillsboro, but relocated to Stafford Virginia at the age of 13 where he lived with his grandparents (Bobby and Treneze’ Lacy). He was a 2013 graduate of Mountain View High School and enlisted in the United States Air Force in January 2014. He graduated from the USAF Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base with honors and went on to become an Airman First Class for the Space Systems Operations Command at Schriever Air Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the AF Training Ribbon during his military service.
Glen was united in marriage to Jessica Daniela Idrovo in Colorado Springs on March 27, 2015. This union became a family with the birth of their son, Giovonni Daryl, and expected birth of their daughter, Kimalla Glendalyn, who is anticipated to make her entrance into this world September 11, 2017.
Glen was a very passionate young man and was admired for his strong will and dynamic personality. He had a unique since of humor with a phenomenal spirit, always striving to be the best that he could be. He was loved and adored by all who knew him and had a smile that could light up any room. Glen was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend who loved God, his family, music and sports. His proudest achievement in life was serving his country as a member of the USAF and his greatest pleasure in life was his family. He loved his family and always wanted the best for them. He was a member of New Destiny Baptist Church of Fredericksburg, Virginia where he was baptized at the age of 14.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Kimberly Latrese Moon; grandparents, Glen Ray Riggs and Minnie Rose Johnson; great grandparents, Allice and Daniel Baker; aunt, Marilyn Wells; and cousin, Tyler Hewitt.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jessica Daniela Montgomery; son, Giovonni; expected daughter, Kimalla; father Delvin Johnson; mother-in-law Irma Espinoza; father-in-law, Manuel Idrova; brother, Barron (Brittany) Montgomery; brothers-in-law, Christian & John Idrovo; sisters, Allana Moon, Delaysha Edwards, Brittany Outley, and Denae, Justyce & Delta Johnson; sisters-in-law, Mayra, Diana & Esmeralda Idrovo, and Eliana Espinoza; grandparents, Jacquline Martin and Bobby Lacy (Treneze’); great-grandparents, Katie and Dale Lacy; uncles, Joe (Jaque), Ricky (Pam), and Bobby Lacy II, Jason Ervin, Charles Reed, Glen Ray, James and Malcom Johnson, Glen Ray and Joseph Riggs, Alfred, Johnny (Lisa), Geoffrey (Sharon), and Victor Montgomery; aunts, Alysia Lacy, Deborah Marshall, Callie Finley (Charles), Clora and Lillian Riggs, and La Sha and Juanika Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
