Grace Braswell

Grace Braswell, 100, passed away Thursday, December 16, 2004 at Town Hall Estates Nursing Home in Whitney. Grace was born March 25, 1904 near Troup, Texas the daughter of Sanders Dave and Leona Barton Davis. She moved to Hill County when she was 19 years old. She lived in Whitney until 1980, at which time she moved to Marlin and lived there until 1985. In 1985 she moved to Hillsboro and lived there until 2000. For the past four years she has resided in Whitney. On May 10, 1948 she married Ed Braswell and he preceded her in death on March 27, 1972. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. She was a housewife and a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Whitney. Survivors include three children, Dorothy Ann Harris of Whitney, Melton Davis of Whitney, and Walter Ed Braswell of Marlin; a sister, Vallie Clifton of San Angelo; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
