Grace Scott

Grace Scott, 95, of Blum, passed away on June 16, 2016, at a Whitney nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on June 18, 2016, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel with Brother Ken Coleman and Mr. Raymond Pruitt, officiating. Burial will follow at Heath Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 - 8 p.m., on Friday, June 17, 2016, at the funeral home.

Grace was born on October 8, 1920, in Hill County, to Benjamin and Myrtle (Connolly) Frank.
On May 12, 1939, she married J.W. Scott and he preceded her in death on August 22, 2001.

A homemaker, she was always willing to go into the field and help her husband tend to the farm work, a practice which she continued until age 62. In addition to working on the farm, she was an avid quilter, loved to garden and cook and enjoyed traveling. She was very active in the Blum Eastern Star chapter and also in the Hill County Home Demonstration Club as well as being a member of Good Sam’s Club.

Most importantly, she was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a life-long member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 2 brothers, Kendall Frank and Connolly Frank; four sisters, Oleta Epps, Audrey Faulkner, Anna Ruth Marsh and Virginia Scott.

Survivors include her children, Kaye Scott and wife, Melva of Rio Vista, Charles Scott and wife, Earline of Blum and Mark Scott and wife, Julia of Blum; grandchildren, Michael Scott and wife, Joyce of Houston, Lisa Phipps and husband Bryan of Cleburne, Jerry Scott of Cleburne and Billy Scott of Blum, Sarah Perkins and Jon Williams; great-grandchildren, Katie Scott of College Station, Joley Grace Scott and Sam Scott of Cleburne; Harley Scott and C.J. Scott of Blum, and Ryan Phipps of College Station, Tyler Perkins, Isaac Perkins and Joshua Perkins; brother-in-law, Billy Scott and wife, Jean of Whitney and sister-in-law, Ethel Arnold and husband, Bobby of Hurst; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Heath Cemetery Association, 2388 HCR 1212, Blum, Texas 76627.
