Gussie Shaw

Mrs. Shaw was born in Irene, Texas and was the daughter of David Nathaniel and Nellie Pearl Langford Bruton. She was raised in the Irene and Mertens area, and graduated from Mertens High School. For 29 years she was an employee of Ennis Business Forms. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mertens. On May 21, 1938 she married Warren Alvin Shaw and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1986. Also preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, Boyd Bruton, Buster Bruton, and Roy Bruton; and two sisters, Georgia Pearl Elliott Buie and Ocie Bruton. Survivors include her daughter, Kay Hessie Shaw Negovetich and husband, Frank, of Angleton; and granddaughter, Marisha Negovetich of Austin.
