Guy Fort Hancock, 95, of Hillsboro was called home Wednesday, May 6, 2015, surrounded by family. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Old Armour Cemetery in Coolidge. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2015, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Guy was born July 3, 1919, to Guy F. and Cordie (Riddle) Hancock in Mexia. After his parents passed while he was in childhood, Guy was raised by his paternal grandparents, Soloman Warren (S.W.) and Lucretia (Hayter) Hancock of Coolidge. Finishing Coolidge High in 1937, Guy went on to attend Baylor University. He married Glenn Hill in 1940. After graduating from Baylor in 1941, Guy began a career with Hughes Tool Company and worked in both Indiana and Oklahoma. He returned to Coolidge in 1942 and worked in various areas of education, real estate, and the oil and gas industry. Guy was a member of First Baptist Church of Coolidge and served the community as Mayor for several years during the late 1960's and early 1970's. Never meeting a stranger, Guy was always willing to shake a hand and meet someone new. His stories will be missed and cherished.

Also preceding him in death were his wife, Glenn (Hill) Hancock; son, Hugh Hancock; son-in-law, Richard May; and grandson Baby May.

He is survived by his brother, Ret. Col. Reginald Lee Hancock of Austin; daughter, Glenda (Hancock) May of Plano; son and daughter-in-law, Frank Borg and Amber Kegley of Edmonds, Washington; daughter and son-in-law, Gaila (Hancock) Sanders and Chad Sanders of Hillsboro, Texas; daughter, Mary (Hancock) Slaton of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Kristi (May) Planas and husband, Luis, of Little Rock, Arkansas, Kimberly May of Plano, Avery and Frankie Kegley of Edmonds, Washington, David Saldana and Sarah Sanders of Hillsboro, and Glenn Slaton and Ava Muns of Hillsboro; and great-grandchildren, Madelynn and Grace Ann Borchert of Plano.
