Hallie Lucko, 83, of Penelope passed away Thursday August 25, 2011, at Providence Health Care Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 27, at Penelope Cemetery near Penelope. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Hallie was born December 24, 1927 in Corsicana the daughter of William and Alma L. (Grantham) Croft. She graduated from Corsicana High School and completed two years at Navarro Junior College. She lived in Corsicana most of her life until her marriage to Wilbert Lucko on July 2, 1981, when they settled in Penelope. When she was younger, Hallie enjoyed painting and writing poetry. For 25 years she was a Charge Nurse at Twilight Nursing Home. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Hillsboro.

Preceding her in death were her parents; two daughters, Rebecca Barfield and Carrie Sikes; son, Bubba Nowell; grandson, Ben “Bubba” Nowell; and brother, William Croft.

Survivors include her husband, Wilbert Lucko of Penelope; step-son, Radney Lucko and wife, Veronica, of Gholson; sister, Kathryn Ballew of Corsicana; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
