Harley Gant

Harley Newton Gant passed away on April 4, 2005 in Whitney. He was the son of Jesse Newton and Ida Jones Gant. Harley was a contractor in the concrete business for 19 years, retiring in 1979. He married Prudence Irene Miller on November 3, 1934 and she preceded him in death on July 1, 1997. He was a member of Towash Baptist Church in Whitney and loved to fish and garden. He was an extremely hard worker. Also preceding him in death were his parents, and sons, Bobby Gant and Don Gant. Survivors include his son, Steve Gant and wife, Sarah of Peoria; brothers-in-laws, Gerald Frazier of Waco, Gene Miller of Whitney; sisters-in-laws, Marie Miller of Lampasas, Neva Miller of Whitney; 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
