Harold Pelham

Harold Pelham, 52, of Whitney, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at his residence. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Bethlehem Cemetery in Whitney with Rev. Kile Bateman and Rev. Scott Pelham officiating. Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney are in charge of the arrangements. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Harold was born on March 12, 1965, in Whitney, to Robert and Leta (Ellison) Pelham. He lived in Hill County all of his life, graduating from Whitney High School in 1983. After graduation, he worked for the City of Whitney for a few years before going to work at Copper Technology in Hillsboro. He also worked at Leach Trailers in Itasca. On January 13, 2017, he married Lora Kelley in Laguna Park.

He was a dedicated, volunteer fireman as well as a diver for the rescue diving team for Lake Whitney. For 26 years, he was a volunteer fireman for Itasca, Hubbard, Northcrest Lakeview and Whitney fire departments. He was also a member of the Texas State Guard.

In his spare time he was an avid reader. Harold attended Towash Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his father and daughter Samantha Pelham.

Survivors include in his wife, Lora Pelham of Whitney; mother, Leta Pelham of Whitney; children Autumn Vella and husband, Roland of Kyle and Jacob Pelham and wife, Lauren of Rusk; 2 grandchildren, Savannah Pelham and Olivia Vella; sisters, Tina Michelle Early of Keller; nieces, Lindsay Scroggins and husband, Kent of Keller and Whitney Early, also of Keller; nephew, Bailey Early of Keller; 3 friends who were like brothers to him, Mark Ayers, Larry Bray and Kile Bateman; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other extended family.
