Harold Taylor

Harold Taylor, age 86, of Whitney, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Whitney Memorial Park.

Harold was born on September 30, 1935, in Whitney, Texas to his loving parents John Thomas Taylor Sr. and Rose Bell (New) Taylor. He married the love of his life Shirley Ann (Channon) Taylor on July 29, 1956, in Durant, Oklahoma and shortly after had two little boys together. Harold loved wood working and gardening, especially building porch swings and growing great tomatoes.

Harold is preceded in death by his loving wife of many years, Shirley Ann (Channon) Taylor; both of his parents; his son, Harold D. Taylor Jr.; brother, John T. Taylor Jr.; and sister, Juanita Hiller.

He is survived by his son, Dr. John Taylor and wife Lisa of Forney, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sheri Taylor of Joshua, Texas; grandchildren, Leigh Maryann Taylor Damare and husband Ryan of Mandeville, Louisiana,  Thomas Logan Taylor and wife Shelby Guthrie of Gladewater, Texas, Austin Ryan Taylor and wife Shelby of Lavon, Texas, Lt. Trent Mizell Taylor and wife Kamryn of Oceanside, California, and Kirsten Whitney Taylor of Dallas, Texas; and great grandchildren, Ryleigh Paige Damare, Reese Damare, and Rowan Thomas Damare of Mandeville, Louisiana.

Harold was loved and will be missed greatly by his family and friend, and especially Mary.
