Harry Threlkeld, 70, of Whitney, passed away in Houston on December 9, 2018. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Marshall and Marsahall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Koshkonong Cemetery in Koshkonong, Missouri.
Harry was born in Koshkonong, Missouri on October 29, 1948, to Henry and Clara (Hampton) Threlkeld, growing up there. On December 26, 1972, he married Helga Zubke and she preceded him in death on February 16, 2018. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from May 6, 1959 through April 29, 1975, and lived in 24 different locations with Helga. In 1976, he joined the Army Corps of Engineers and that work brought him to Whitney in 1984. After his retirement from the Corps of Engineers, he opened his own business, H Electric.
He was very involved in the Whitney community, volunteering where needed. But he was especially active with the WISD where he worked as a volunteer with the band boosters in the concession stand for many years.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley Roberts; brothers, James and Robert Threlkeld; and an infant sister.
Survivors include his daughter, Candis Threlkeld of Muncy, Pa; a brother, William Threlkeld of Koskonong MO; a grandson, William Bradshaw; and many nieces and nephews.
