Hayden Dumas, 92, of Lindale died Monday, July 7, 2008, at Colonial Nursing Center in Lindale. Hayden of born September 1, 1915 in Woodbury, Texas the son of George Blakley and Bertha Bradley Dumas. After graduating from Hillsboro High School, he moved to Dallas in 1938. On July 4, 1937 he married Katherine Lucille Gunn and she preceded him in death on January 23, 1990. He spent the majority of his life in the casualty insurance claims industry. A fan of Bob Wills music, western swing, and bluegrass, Hayden especially loved the fiddle and played the guitar by ear. He was a member of Duncanville Church of Christ in Duncanville, Gibraltar Masonic Lodge in Dallas, was a 32 Degree Mason, and member of the Scottish Rite. Also preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include two sons, Larry Dumas and wife, Judy, of Lindale and Mike Dumas and wife, Diane, of Dallas; brother, Kenneth Dumas and wife, Marchieta, of Cleburne; sister, Billie London of Lewisville; two grandchildren, Bradley Dumas and wife, Leah, of Austin and Robin Dumas of Tyler; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Smith of New York, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Breckenridge Village of Tyler, 15062 County Road 1145, Tyler, TX 75704 or charity of choice.
