Hayzen Plunkett

Hayzen Irene Ashley Plunkett, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Hayzen was born May 19, 1916 in Newport, Oklahoma the daughter of John Calvin and Enna Myrtle Chapman Ashley. On December 23, 1936 she married A. B. Plunkett and they made their home in Abbott. They had one daughter, Janette Plunkett Lee. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Abbott. Hayzen was a homemaker and worked on their farm and ranch. She also played a big role in Janette?s trick riding career. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughter; and two brothers, Oliver Ashley and Leroy Ashley. Survivors include two nephews, Murrie Lee Plunkett and family of Abbott and Coy and Nellave Ashley and family of Lone Grove, OK; a niece, Pauline Purcell of Lone Grove, OK; her son-in-law, Jim Lee of Iowa Park; her dear & close Friends, Dollie Riddle of Vernon, Toni Warvell of Weatherford, and Katie Kaska of Abbott; numerous other nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends; and her beloved cat, Felix.
