Hazel Lois Birdwell, 92, of Whitney and formerly of Cleburne passed away on January 4, 2012 in Whitney.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Greg Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be Friday, January 6, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Hazel was born April 13, 1919, in Aquilla, Texas. She was the daughter of Robert Lee and Sarah Sophronia (Hestilow) Farquhar. On October 7, 1937, she married Guy Barnett Birdwell in Hillsboro, Texas.
Mrs. Birdwell was a dedicated homemaker, a gifted cook, a talented seamstress and artist, and a wonderful wife and mother. She served alongside her husband in his ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Guy B. Birdwell in 1998; daughter, Clara Ruth Morris in 1975 and a great grandson, Jamie Morris in 2008.
Survivors include daughter, Marie (Birdwell) Bell of Whitney; son and daughter-in-law, William (Bill) and Nancy Birdwell of Shell Point Beach, FL.; son and daughter-in-law, Guy Lynn and Valerie Birdwell of Imperial, TX.; sister, Juanita and husband, Harding Boeker of Conroe, TX.; brother, Charles and wife, Dean Farquhar of Houston, TX.; sister, Dorothy (Tiny) and husband, Cecil McNatt of Cleburne; grandchildren, Randy Bell, Ricky Bell, Rhonda Hughes, Robert Birdwell, Hillary Goode, Lisa Staley, Ronny Morris, Larry Morris, Terri Moore; 13 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren..
