Hazel Maxwell

Hazel was born December 10, 1909 in Hill County, Texas to E. E. and Lillie Knight Bearden. She lived all of her life in Hill County and graduated from Milford High School. On November 27, 1927 she married John Maxwell and he preceded her in death on March 19, 1983. She worked for S. H. Kress & Co., Tacker?s Drive Inn, and H & R Drug in Hillsboro in the late 50's and early 60's. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Wayburn Maxwell; and a daughter, Charlene Carmichael. Survivors include two sisters, Ruby Stefka of Paris, Texas and Marie Knight of Kemp; three grandsons, Charles Carmichael of Jasper, Dwight Carmichael of Hillsboro, and Dodd Carmichael of Dublin; four great-grandchildren, Leigh Ellen Carmichael, Colt Lewis Carmichael, Nolan Dodd Carmichael, and Jordan Charia Carmichael.
