Helen Bandy, 92, of Aztec, New Mexico died Saturday, April 26, 2008 in Aztec, New Mexico due to complications from a bad fall. Helen was born August 15, 1915 in Hillsboro, Texas the daughter of George and Jewel Cox. At the age of 15 she graduated from high school and attended Hillsboro Junior College. She later graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in English, a Masters in Psychology, and was very active in the Chi Omega sorority. After 18 years, Helen retired as the Legal Administrator of Vincent and Elkins in Houston. She was past president of the Hillsboro Cemetery Association, served as an elder for several Presbyterian churches, and was a volunteer for St. David Hospital. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother, George Cox, Jr. Survivors include two sons, Paul Bandy of Aztec, NM and John Bandy of Austin, TX; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
