Helen Hester

Helen was born October 31, 1922 in Mertens, Texas to Farrar and Viola Armstrong Finch. After graduating from Mertens High School she attended Hillsboro Junior College. She taught school for two years, raised her family, and then worked as ward secretary at Grant Buie Hospital for 20 years. On February 4, 1944 she married Harold Dunlap Hester and he preceded her in death on October 20, 1984. Also preceding her in death were her parents. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Survivors, include her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Donna Hester of Fort Worth, Danny and Ronda Hester of Hillsboro, and Bobby and Linda Hester of Marshall; her daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra Tanner of Irving, Marilyn and Ken Hawkins of Burleson, and Bettye and Clay Maroone of Fort Worth; her brother and sister-in-law, Maurice and Lois Finch of Hillsboro; an aunt, Jewel Cowley of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
