Henry W. Neumann, 94, of Malone passed away Thursday, December 26, 2013, at The Legends in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Michael Nemec officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the funeral home.
Henry was born June 24, 1919 in Malone to Gus and Ida (Strauch) Neumann. On November 7, 1939, he married Erelene Radke and she preceded him in death on May 12, 1996. During World War II, he served his country in the United States Army. An avid Yankees fan, Henry loved baseball and was an excellent left handed pitcher. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, hot weather, a good game of dominoes, and being with his family. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Malone.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; son, Ricky Neumann on August 11, 2010; and three brothers, Adolph, Robert, and August Neumann.
Survivors include his son, David Neumann and wife, Loretta, of Malone; two granddaughters, Kimberly Burgess and husband, Tim, of Waxahachie and Jennifer Dill and husband, Matt, of Crawford; and four great-grandchildren, Zach and McKayla Burgess of Waxahachie and Clayton and Lauren Dill of Crawford.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, P. O. Box 40, Malone, TX 76660.
