Herman Muesse, 87, of Hillsboro passed away Saturday, August 20, 2011, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 22, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro.

Herman was born February 10, 1924 in the Honey Flat Community near Irene in Hill County to the late Herman and Matilda (Schmidt) Muesse. In November 1946 he joined the U. S. Army Air Corp and served his country until his discharge in November 1949. On December 19, 1946 he married Netty Corpier in Hillsboro and she preceded him in death on September 26, 1999.

For 43 ½ years, he was a very dedicated and dependable employee with TP&L. He retired from TP&L as a Class A Lineman in August 1987. After his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and participating in family dinners and reunions. He was very dedicated to his family and was always present for the important events in their lives.

He was a charter member of Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro, a very active and endowed member of the Masonic Lodge #196 in Hillsboro where he was a 50 year Master Mason, member of York Rite, Order of the Eastern Star Lodge #769 in Hillsboro, and the Shriner’s in Waco.

Survivors include his sister, Marguerite Schronk of Hillsboro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jolene and Henry Dean Lehmann of Brandon and Tommie and Melvin Elkins of California; nephews and niece, James Ray Schronk and wife, Judy of Hillsboro, Wesley Schronk and wife, Debbie, of Irene, Jimmy Lehmann of Brandon, and Paula McCance and husband, Chuck, of California; great-nephews and nieces, Adam Schronk and wife, Mandy, Allison Schronk, Rodney Schronk and wife, Susan, Derek Schronk, Dustin McCance, and Shannon McCance; and two great-great nephews, Ryan and Trey Schronk.

Memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church, P. O. Box 263, Hillsboro, TX 76645.
