Hertha Dungan

Hertha Dungan, 69, of Hillsboro died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro. Hertha was born August 6, 1939 in Council Bluffs, Iowa the daughter of Herman and Louise Wurdeman Sudmann. She grew up in Treynor, Iowa. In 1955 she married Miles Dungan in California Junction, Iowa and he preceded her in death on May 6, 1989. The couple moved extensively after their marriage. Since 1990 she has lived in Hillsboro. She loved to cook and constantly enjoyed trying new recipes. She also cared deeply for horses. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Also preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her children, Randy Dungan and Jeff Dungan and wife, Linette, all of Hillsboro, and Barbara Major of Arlington; brother, Elimar Sudmann of Atlantic, Iowa; four grandchildren, Danyelle Lantier, Benjamin Major, Robert Dungan, and Brittney Dungan; a great-granddaughter, Madison Lantier; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
