Hilda Jewer, 100, of Whitney, passed away at her residence on January 20, 2015. She was under Mission Hospice care lovingly given by two of her daughters, Beverly Watson and Kathy Jean, both of Whitney. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 1 PM, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Whitney. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday, Janaury 23, 2015, at the funeral home.

Hilda was born on April 3, 1914, in Boston, Massachusetts, to George and Mary (Galman) Rollins. She loved gardening, reading and Texas weather as well as volunteering at the Whitney Museum and Whitney Library.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Jodi Black.

She is survived by four daughters and their families.

Joan Griffin and husband, Carl, of Windham, NH;, granddaughters, Kimberly Aubrey and husband, Randy, Kayle and Callen Aubrey; Jennifer Dalton and husband, Lee, Leanann Greenling, and Allison and Neal Van Noord, and grandson, Gregory Griffin and wife, Sasha, Ethan and Brooke Griffin.

She is also survived by daughter, Beverly Watson of Whitney; granddaughter, Deborah Watson, great-granddaughter, Tracy Rogers, and great-great-granddaughters Caitlin and Christian Rogers; great-grandson, Shawn Watson and great-great-grandson, Patrick Watson; great-grandsons, James, Matthew and Jacob; granddaughter Cathleen Redding and Eric and Cory Redding and great-great-grandson, Aiden; and grandson, Arthur Watson of Colorado.

Another daughter, Hildegarde Flood and husband, Tom of Medway, MA survive Hilda as well as granddaughter Cynthia DeJoie and husband, David and Nicholas, Lauren and Andrew DeJoie; grandson, Timothy Flood and wife, Julie and Trent and Tyler Flood; and grandson, Thomas Flood.

She is also survived by daughter Kathleen Jean and husband, Hollis of Whitney; grandson, Jay Black and wife, Donna, and Allison, Katie and Tyler Black; grandson, Jason Black and wife, Kristi, and Nicole Black.

She loved and cherished her family as she quietly set an example of living her life in quiet dignity.
We all love you Mom, Grandmother and Great-grandmother and Great-great-grandmother.
