Horace Findley

Horace Smith Findley 88, of Whitney passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Horace was born on November 24, 1927 in Clifton, to the late Marcus Andrew and Bessie Marie (Ingram) Findley. Horace worked for the Whitney Hospital as an administrator and served on the Whitney Chamber of Commerce until his retirement. He served his country for 20 years in the Army Air Corps. and was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Whitney.

Preceded in death by his sisters, Sibyl Lott, Sylvas Saunders, Atrelle Connally, Bettye Smith; niece, Nanette Smith and nephew, Paul Dietiker Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Phyllis Findley; children, Mike and Cindy Findley of Waxahachie, Paula and Carman Bruner of Grandview, J Lyn and Candance Findley of Katy; sister, Billie Barnett of Whitney, 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
