Howard Yeary

Howard Ellis Yeary, 75, passed away on Veterans Day, Sunday, November 11, 2018, at his residence in White Bluff in Whitney. He will lie in state at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney on Tuesday, November 13, from 9 a.m - 5 p.m. The celebration of life will be at White Bluff Chapel in Whitney at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 with Rev. Terry Cosby officiating. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m., at the chapel, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Naruna Cemetery in Burnet County at 3:30 p.m.

Howard was born in Lampasas, Texas on February 28, 1943, to Howard and Eleanor (Zimmerman) Yeary. He graduated from Cleburne High School in 1961. Howard served his country with a tour of duty in Vietnam with the Navy Seabees. When he returned he earned a BBA in accounting from Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth.

He was the financial director for Burleson ISD for 20 plus years and retired from Palestine ISD in 2000. He was united in marriage to Linda Sue Martin on December 19, 1998, in Fort Worth. They moved to the retirement community of White Bluff on Lake Whitney to enjoy golfing and fishing. He became a fireman and first responder for the White Bluff Volunteer Fire Department. He was also an active member and past treasurer for the Trustees of White Bluff Chapel.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece, Jennifer Skinner.

Survivors include his wife, Linda, of White Bluff; sister Betty Skinner and, husband, Jim, of Lampasas; niece Kristen Chavis and husband James of Georgetown; three great-nephews, Matthew, Jacob and Joshua Iten of Ohio; step-sons, Terry Martin and wife, Robin of Fort Worth, Trace Martin and wife, Meredith and grandchildren, Olivia and Rhett all of Southlake.

The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice and Divine Living Assistance for their loving care and support for Howard during his illness.
