Ida Dunn

Ida Dunn, 84, of Whitney went home to be with Jesus on July 12, 2009. Ida was born on September 21, 1924 in Godley, the daughter of the late Horace Jesse and Lily May Simmons Tucker. She married Jean Dunn in 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She served in the Unites States Army during World War II. Ida worked as an insurance clerk for 9 years, 5 years in clothing manufacturing and several years as an office manager. She moved to Whitney in 1985. She and Jean enjoyed square dancing in the Diamond Jubileers. Her favorite past time was watching football. She was a member of Fort Graham Baptist Church of Whitney and the Oddfellows & Rebekka Lodge # 243 in Dallas for 20 years. Also preceding her in death were her sons; James David Dunn, Michael Lynn Dunn, granddaughter, Sherry Lynn Dunn; 3 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include her grandchildren, Dava Nevill and husband Chad of Whitney; Allen Dunn Lidster of Waco; great grandchildren, Christopher Dunn, Sherry and Shelby Nevill, Lyndsy Lidster all of Whitney and daughter-in-law, Linda Dunn of Whitney Memorials: American Heart Association, PO Box 15186, Austin, TX 78761
