Imogene Dyer, 83 of Forest Hill passed away on February 21, 2012 in Whitney.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2012 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney with Rev. Jesse Simon officiating. Interment will follow at Whitney Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 -8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Imogene was born on July 13, 1928 in Prairie Valley to the late Bruce and Margaret (Cappers) Shaw. On December 4, 1945, she married William S. “Jack” Dyer and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1990. She worked as a candy dipper for The Sweet Shop, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed country music, dancing, baking, and playing board games especially with her grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her children, Dwayne Simpson Dyer and wife, Ruth of Forest Hill, Diana Jeanette Richards and husband, Rick of Salt Lake City, Utah, Larry Don Dyer of Forest Hill; brothers, C. R. Shaw and wife, Billie of Keene, Jerry Shaw and wife, Dorothy of Garden Acres, Benny Shaw and wife, Linda of Arlington; sisters, Etheline Dennis, Willie Mae Worley and husband, James, Anita Brown and husband, John all of Whitney; 10 grandchildren, Dewayne Dyer II and wife, Marcie of Burleson, Robert Dyer of Mansfield, Jason Sanders and wife, Jennifer of Southlake, Jessse Sanders of Arlington, Johnathan Sanders and wife, Ramona of Euless, Michael Richards of Dennison, Tiffany Hodges, Serena Hodges, Emily Hodges, Cassie Hodges; 10 great grandchildren, Christian Dyer of Burleson, Ashley and Haley Dyer of Mansfield, Bryce and Riley Sanders of Southlake, Summer Hodges of Alvarado, Jadely Armstrong of Alvarado, Zoey Hodges of Alvarado, Ryann Ballinger of Fort Worth and Cara Baxter of Fort Worth.
