Ina Faye Lampp Owens, age 87, of Hillsboro, passed away January 26, 2024, in Hillsboro. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating. A burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory. The visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, February 1, 2024, at the funeral home.
Ina Faye was born February 27, 1936, in Kopperl, Texas to Oscar and Pauline Lampp. She attended school in Hillsboro and graduated after eleven years in the top ten of her class. She started her working career at McCrory's, and as bookkeeper at Bouie Furniture, Bud Russell Furniture, and Wise Oil Company, where she retired.
She deeply loved and was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She taught Sunday School for many years, was church clerk, worked Vacation Bible School, was on the Funeral Committee, and volunteered in the church library. She was highly creative and loved sewing, especially for her family. She was a prolific crocheter, making Afghans, baby blankets, and clothing. If she was not reading, she might be found working word puzzles or writing poetry. She loved anything crafty and dabbled in ceramics, tole painting, and counted cross-stitch. She loved traveling with the senior citizens of Central Baptist Church and good friends Milton and Lynda Frank. She loved her friends and neighbors the thirteen years she lived at Allen's Point.
Preceding her in death were her husband of almost sixty-two years, Bobby Owens; her parents Oscar and Pauline Lampp; and her sisters, Bobbie Jean Lampp Hines and Cordie Belle Lampp Owens. Survivors include her three children, Paula Owens Keese and husband, Gary, Connie Owens Wilson and husband, Robert, and Jim Owens and wife, Christine; eight grandchildren, Natalie Keese Harris, Alicia Keese Olson, Joshua Keese, Robby Wilson, Jonathan Wilson, Abigail Wilson, Benjamin Wilson, and Luke Patrick Owens; seven great-grandchildren, Bethany Harris, Lucy Harris, Easton Harris, Raylee Olson, Virginia (Ginna) Olson, Emma Olson, and Nora Wilson; nephew and nieces Neil Hines, Jean Hines O'Shaw, Sue Hines Stuckey, and Becky Owens Bullock; great-niece and -nephews Tara Stuckey, Ryan Stuckey and Jacob Baker; and close first cousin Alfred Lampp.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Hill Regional Hospital for their compassionate and loving care of our mother in her final days in her earthly body. Thank you for your ministry to us.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Central Baptist Church library.
